Last Week in California...

As our last week in California comes to an end, our new adventure begins. Scott, Pretzel, Smokey and Nat set out on the LONG cross-country drive early this morning, leaving from San Juan Capistrano at 7:00am. They made a pit stop in Hemet to load up the truck and the Volvo. Definitely a "Jed Clampett" scene as the truck left the storage unit. Scott and Nat drove through Arizona, and are resting tonight in Gallop, New Mexico.

While Scott made some last minute auto care preparations such as "checked liquids" and worked...Us girls had a fantastic week, in fact yesterday we went to a water park where Charlie and Maryam had a blast playing in the sprinklers. Then last night we headed west to Orange County to have a fabulous pizza dinner with Uncle Nat and Auntie Lulu. It was a perfect send off.

Tonight I had the great pleasure of the wonderful company of an awesome friend. It was so nice to sit down on the couch and visit with and old friend. I've had the pleasure of staying in touch with my high school English honors teacher, Mrs. Amy Woods. We have stayed in contact all these years and it was a tearful goodbye, but a pleasure at the same time. Scott spent several hours over there earlier in the week, playing in the "mans garage" with her husband Steve. Is "playing" the right word? Hmm, I'm going to go with YES! Ha! Sometimes you just have to sit down and tell old stories and nothing soothes the soul like good conversation with a person who knows you incredibly well.

Our plans for this weekend are to spend some relaxing moments together as a family. Jennifer and I are hoping to get to spend some 1 on 1 time together and of course we will take the kids swimming some more.

Come Monday morning Charlie, Addison and I will be meeting Uncle Justin at the Ontario airport to fly south... non stop to Nashville Tennessee. Yep, a 1 way ticket!! Wish us all luck and I will update more soon. Thanks for listening!
