Sprinkler FUN

Ready set... here I go!!!

Summer FUN!

Addison and Charlie have been having a blast playing outside in the water... I am trying to convince Scott we need a pool! The girls LOVE it!! It has been crazy HOT so we have been trying to play in the water when we play outside! The water table just doesn't seem as much fun now that we want a pool. We sure miss our Yaya's pool! And okay, I admit it... I MISS THE DESERT! It's a dry heat! Haha! Mostly because my hair looks rediculous and never looks how it did when I leave the house. This weather is just crazy! It is still raining too. That is the strangest concept to me. To have rain, yet not be cold... I still wear pants when it rains and then I realize it is85 degrees outside. Haha!

Charlie's First Crush!

Charlie is in LOVE with Billy Currington and when she saw his picture on a giant bus, she got ecstatic! She loves to sing many of his songs and she plays her purple guitar as she does it. Gee, I wonder where she gets that from? Uh huh! Her daddy, likes him too! I think in a different way though... I mean I didn't see Scott blush when he saw the photo! Hahaha! Charlie's favorite song right now is "can you let me down easy" She sings it all the time and always asks the radio to play it. It's funny how we wonder why our kids don't have patience... Well I can remember listening to a countdown on the radio on Saturday mornings with my blank tape ready to hit record as soon as they would play what I was waiting for! Well Charlie just asks her dad to play a song on his phone and there you go, instant gratification! Thanks utube!!

"I hear the trains a coming..."

We decided one Friday night to take the train down to Nashville and it was a HIT! Addison and Charlie had the best time! We went during the CMA fest! It was packed and they had the main streets in Nashville blocked off for concerts and vendors. We walked up and down and saw as much as we could with 2 little ones and then went to Margaritaville! We had a blast. We thought it would be the ideal place to have dinner! Mainly because it was loud and we figured the kids could blend in. It ended up being the perfect place... they even had a pirate on stilts making balloon hats! Addison had trouble sitting in her high chair and was just screaming like she was miserable. We actually got really nervous as most parents would and started to regrett our decision of going out to dinner. Then I took Addison out of her chair and the whole time we had dinner she ran circles around the table! She was laughing and giggling the entire time! It was hilarious! Everyone in the area was just laughing at her and she was the little entertainer! Then of course it was time for them to get their balloons! That was so funny because they each had to have one, but Addison ate hers right away and it popped! Haha... I guess she was hungry after all.

Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Addison saw me take Charlie's picture of her in the balloon hat and she ran over there and had to have hers taken too! It was hilarious! She didn't want to feel left out and put me in my place for sure!

Addison

I think Addison started to get car seat crazy!! I love this smile! She really is growing up so fast! She has NO problem walking around and running around. She is starting to repeat words that we say and loves to do whatever Charlie does. She is so much fun and really happy all the time. Addison has so much personality and is LOUD! She demands with her loudness to get exactly what she wants even if she isn't really sure what the word is she is looking for. Her favorite game right now is "Row row row your boat" . She loves to play it with her Yaya! She also loves to take the tickle game and walks right up to you and puts her little hand on your belly and goes "ticka ticka ticka" and laughs the whole time! She is a pretty good eater and loves her fruit! We are lucky that she eats oatmeal for breakfast everyday and usually has yogurt for lunch. Her snacks always consist of fruit. However she LOVES her dessert, just like her sister. I would say ice cream is her favorite. She loves the water and has been having a great time this summer so far. She hasn't been afraid of the sprinklers or the pools. She also isn't afraid to get her face wet. As long as she is doing what her sister is doing, she is happy!

Butterfly garden

We went into a butterfly garden for the first time and it was a very unique experience. I was nervous at first because you know me and bugs. I don't understand how people go around looking for them... Oh well. There were some beautiful butterflies and they were actually pretty big! I had never really seen anything like it before. The girls loved it of course. Charlie Mae was lucky enough to have one sit on her finger. She was nervous at first, but really enjoyed the opportunity for a close up.

Addison didn't have to walk too much!

Addison really got a kick out of watching the fish!!

Aquarium

Next on our vacation stop was the Chattanoogga Aquarium! The girls both just loved it. Addison was a cute as could be and would scream when she saw the fish... she was so observant and wanted to be a part of all of it. She really loved all the turtles, so of course we got her a cute little pink one to take home! The aquarium was really nice! It was huge... They had it broken down between the ocean and the local rivers and lakes. It was neat to see what the local fish looked like. Us being from Southern California are more familiar with what is in the ocean, rather than in a lake! Charlie really loved it! They both did great walking and didn't get too cranky! We went early in the morning hoping that would help. We were down one man because Scott woke up feeling really sick and went to urgent care. He was treated after several hours of waiting, but it all worked out. He had to have a shot and started some antibiotics. It's funny because Scott never gets sick and has only been to the Dr's twice in all these years that I have known him. He is all better now and enjoyed the day once he got there anyways. He was nervous he wasn't going to find us but he found us right away. We were where the ice cream was of course! Charlie and Addison love their ice cream!!

Vacation - Chattanooga!

We decided to take a weekend trip up to Chattanooga and we had a blast! Yaya is here and we want to show her around and as much as we can! I took Friday off and we headed up early Friday morning. We stayed 2 nights downtown at the Marriott and it was fabulous. A great hotel, comfortable, quiet and all he amenities one would need/want! Our first stop was Swanee college and it is beautiful. Scott looked at going there after he graduated high school, so it was awesome to have him show me around and listen to his stories! We stopped at the book store and of course he had to get a t-shirt! He wouldn't be Scott if he didn't. Charlie got a new book and Addison got a little bear. We also got a pin for father Robert because that is where he went to school. He is our priest back in California and baptized both of  the girls. We thought it would be nice to send him something.

Next we went to Ruby Falls and it was incredible. We took a long hike deep down into a cave. The cave was beautiful. I had never seen anything like it before. We all loved it. The girls were fantastic! Charlie walked the whole way and Scott and I took turns holding Addison. She wasn't fussy at all and she got a kick out of all the light changes, water, and the texture on the rocks that we were surrounded by. Charlie was such a big girl for walking and was amazed by the whole experiment. She had a blast. By the time we got to the waterfall, we were blown away. The experience literally took my breath away. We thought it was so cool. It was loud and cool of course, but it is definitely one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. They have a walk way around the water fall so you can even walk behind it and look up. We got some pictures, but it truly doesn't do this natural site justice.

Charlie the duck

Face Painting

And we will never know why she picked dots, but she did!

Tea party with Alice

We went to a really cool children's festival at Rogue University in Memphis. What an amazing campus is that! Oh it is just beautiful. The Children's festival was so much fun. Charlie and Addison had the opportunity to paint, and make many crafts! We all had a great time! Plus, there are NO Cicada's in Memphis! Haha!
